iPhone 16 Pro: Missing MMS Menu in Settings and Message Sending Failure

Hello,

Issue Description:

I am currently facing a critical outbound message failure on my iPhone 16 Pro (iOS 18) that completely blocks me from completing a bank identity verification.

The bank requires me to send an encrypted, highly complex authentication text string. Due to the character length and format of this security string, the iOS system must process and transmit it strictly as an MMS.

However, the "MMS Messaging" toggle menu has completely disappeared from [Settings] → [Messages]. When I attempt to send this system-generated bank authentication text without modifying a single character, iOS throws a hard error popup stating: "Cannot Send Message: MMS Messaging needs to be enabled to send this message."

Because the menu itself is entirely missing from my settings, I am completely locked out of enabling the required infrastructure to complete my financial transaction.

은행 인증 문자 발송 때문에 MMS가 필요한데 설정 메뉴 자체가 보이지 않는 상황이라면 많이 불편하실 것 같습니다.

iPhone에서 MMS 메뉴가 보이지 않는 경우는 iPhone 설정 문제라기보다 사용 중인 통신사 요금제, 회선 설정, 또는 통신사 프로파일에서 MMS 기능을 지원하지 않거나 활성화하지 않은 상태일 가능성이 있습니다. Apple 안내에서도 MMS 옵션이 보이지 않으면 해당 기능을 통신사에서 지원하는지 확인하라고 안내하고 있습니다. (애플 지원)

아래 순서로 확인해 보시는 것이 좋습니다.

iOS 18 기준으로 설정 > 앱 > 메시지로 들어가 ‘MMS 메시지’ 또는 관련 메시지 옵션이 있는지 다시 확인해 보세요.
iPhone 16 Pro에서 eSIM 또는 듀얼 SIM을 사용 중이라면, 메시지를 보내는 기본 회선이 실제 은행 인증에 사용하는 전화번호와 같은지 확인해 주세요. Apple 안내에 따르면 SMS/MMS/RCS를 보낼 때 사용할 회선을 선택할 수 있습니다. (애플 지원)
설정 > 일반 > 정보에서 통신사 설정 업데이트 안내가 뜨는지 확인해 보세요.
설정 > 일반 > 전송 또는 iPhone 재설정 > 재설정 > 네트워크 설정 재설정을 시도해 볼 수 있습니다. 이 경우 Wi-Fi 비밀번호와 VPN 등 네트워크 설정은 다시 입력해야 합니다.
그래도 MMS 메뉴가 나타나지 않는다면 통신사에 “MMS 발신이 가능한 회선인지, MMS 서비스가 차단되어 있지 않은지, iPhone용 MMS 설정이 정상 등록되어 있는지” 확인 요청을 해보셔야 합니다.
은행 인증 문자가 금융 거래와 관련되어 급한 상황이라면, 은행에 MMS 외 다른 본인 인증 방식이나 지점/고객센터 인증 대체 절차가 있는지도 함께 문의해 보시는 것이 좋습니다.

Hi!

If you are on iOS 18, please update to the latest iOS 18 minor version.
Check Settings → General → About If a 'Carrier Settings Update' pops up, hit Update.
Go to Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Network Settings.
Toggle Airplane Mode on, wait 30 seconds, then turn it off.
If you're using a physical SIM, try taking it out for 1-2 minutes and putting it back in.

If none of that works, you should visit your carrier for help.
